Sheila Dodson-Wright Tableau Events

Sheila Dodson-Wright

Creative Director | Lead Designer

With over 17 years in the event industry, ten of these as the owner and creative director of Tableau Events, Sheila Dodson-Wright has established herself and company as one of the leading event designers in Michigan and beyond. Having had the pleasure of working with over 200 clients with their event and creative needs, her range of experience has allowed her to design events in many locales. From the backdrop of the aqua blue Caribbean Sea to designing luxury weddings against the perfectly painted Northern Michigan sunset sky, Sheila’s versatility is the cornerstone of her signature style. Having collaborated with some of the most talented vendors and venues in the event industry to produce incredible experiences, Tableau Events designs have been featured on ABC’s Good Morning America, NBC The TODAY Show, TLC and numerous national and international blogs and publications including Bride’s Magazine, The Knot, People Magazine, Style Me Pretty and Elizabeth Anne Designs.

Sheila’s refined design aesthetic stems from her love of the natural beauty of the Lake Michigan shoreline to the cultivated vibes of some of her most favorite metropolitan cities.  She draws energy from her surroundings, including her in the daily adventures as a mother, wife and business owner. Truly humbled and grounded by the legacy of family, heritage, tradition and faith in the power of true love, we at Tableau Events are thrilled to bring this unique blend of style, perspective and knowledge to each our client’s events.

Meet Our Events Team

Robin Benson

Lead Event Designer | Team Captain

With 20 years of experience in the hospitality and event industry, seven of these with Tableau Events, Robin brings an unsurpassed wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team and clients. Her range of expertise in the service and catering industry early on opened opportunities in the private club sector where she became an integral part of the venue management team at the prestigious Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club in Grand Blanc, Michigan for 15 years. There Robin planned and managed everything from PGA professional golf outings, charity auctions, private member events and most importantly (and her favorite), weddings ranging from intimate family affairs to extravagant detail oriented 300 plus person multi-event weekends where her attention to detail and grace under fire was perfected.

As a Certified Marketing Professional and full time 2nd grade teacher, Robin brings a very calm and collected approach to the events at Tableau Events. Her day to day routine with managing a classroom brings a very level headed approach to our events that resonates well with our clients, on-site vendors and venues in what can sometimes be one of the most stressful industries to work in while allowing her to be creative in an industry she’s truly passionate about. Her inspiration for making an event truly exceptional comes from her love of family and her three adventurous and amazing children, knowing first hand the significance a monumental special occasion brings.

Carly Shafer

Lead Planner | Client Concierge

Carly’s attention to detail, strong organizational skills and calm and cool demeanor are what make her stand out as our lead event planner and client concierge at Tableau Events.  Her experience in customer service, office management and graphic design brings a multifaceted skill set to Tableau Events that aligns perfectly with our unique offerings while allowing her to work with our clients on various levels within the studio. As a task oriented and goal setting team member, Carly finds her biggest joy is in helping couples develop and navigate through their customized wedding planning process from start to finish while working with families, vendors and venues to ensure all plans are in place and executed flawlessly. With over four years in the Northern Michigan event industry, two of these with Tableau Events, Carly has already been published with rave accolades in My North Weddings for her flawless efforts in wedding day logistics execution and assuring client experience.

Born and raised in a petite town north of Detroit, Carly grew up spending summers on the lakes of Northern Michigan and is thrilled to (finally) call Petoskey home after graduating with a degree in graphic design and pursuing a lifelong dream of traveling out west. When she’s not working on refining client timelines or organizing contracts for Tableau Events, Carly’s adventurous spirit can be found sailing the numerous local lakes, camping on the shores and enjoying the company of her friends and family in the summer, or snowboarding the mountains of Colorado during the off-season. Carly’s love of nature, family, authentic experience and Northern Michigan are a perfect compliment to our mission at Tableau Events.

Eleana Domke

Event Design Stylist

Entering into her fifth event season with Tableau Events, Eleana, is the quintessence of controlled and efficient production with her ability to execute the best laid plans while also making necessary decisions on-site with calculated precision and grace. Her daily life as a pre-med student at Northern Michigan University brings her dedication to excellence to the forefront in all that she does, whether it is through her commitment to her education and personal goals or through the execution of an event design blueprint consistently exceeding expectations. When her studies and event season aren’t on the forefront, you can find Eleana outside hiking, exploring or relaxing in her hammock. Eleana’s love of the outdoors and all things creative shine through when working with the natural elements of a Northern Michigan wedding.

Emma Wright

Event Design Stylist

Emma joins our team for her third year as an event stylist. Her keen eye for placement of décor and overseeing fine details as well as her ability to organize and maintain inventory brings another level of assistance necessary for Tableau Events to exceed expectations with our event executions. Emma’s experience ranges from assisting with back of the house design and prep since she was old enough to stand by her mother’s side in the studio (that’s right, Sheila is her proud momma) to maintaining balance and strong organizational skills with her responsibilities as an honors student as well as her involvement in marching band, pom squad, key club, student leadership committee, theater production and volunteering for school organizations and within the community. With family and love being the inspiration for everything we do at Tableau Events, having Emma as an official part of the team working on the forefront brings so much heart to our daily tasks in the summer.
